NM400 Wear Resistant Steel Plate

NM400 is a high-strength wear-resistant steel plate with a nominal hardness of 400 HBW, manufactured according to GB/T 24186 standard. It provides outstanding wear resistance, good impact toughness, and excellent weldability — making it an ideal material for heavy-duty industries such as mining, construction, and cement production.

  • High Wear Resistance: Nominal hardness of 400 HBW for excellent abrasion protection.

  • Good Weldability: Easy to fabricate and weld using standard procedures.

  • High Strength and Toughness: Delivers both hardness and impact performance.

  • Extended Service Life: Reduces part replacement frequency and maintenance costs.

  • Versatile Application: Suitable for mining, construction, and heavy machinery.

NM400 Steel Description

NM400 wear resistant steel plate is produced through controlled quenching and tempering to achieve uniform hardness and toughness.
It combines high hardness with good formability and weldability, allowing it to be easily fabricated into complex components.

Thanks to its excellent resistance to sliding and impact abrasion, NM400 performs exceptionally well in mining and construction environments.
Using NM400 in equipment like liners, buckets, and blades helps extend component life and reduce operational costs.

FAQs About NM400 Steel

What does NM400 mean?
“NM” stands for “Nai Mo” (wear-resistant in Chinese), and “400” refers to its nominal hardness — about 400 Brinell (HBW).
What is NM400 used for?
NM400 is mainly used in heavy machinery and mining equipment where high wear resistance is required, such as dump liners and excavator buckets.
Can NM400 be welded?
Yes. NM400 has good weldability. However, preheating and low-hydrogen electrodes are recommended to avoid cracking.
