SM570 Steel Description
SM570 is a high-tensile structural steel specified under JIS G3106, designed for welded structures that demand high strength and excellent impact toughness. It represents the upper end of the SM series (SM400–SM570), delivering enhanced load-bearing performance and weldability for critical construction and heavy machinery.
With a minimum yield strength of 450 MPa and tensile strength between 570–720 MPa, SM570 is ideal for bridges, cranes, offshore structures, and large building frameworks requiring strong yet ductile steel.
Available in SM570B and SM570C grades, both are optimized for welded applications:
-
SM570B: Guaranteed impact energy at 0°C
-
SM570C: Guaranteed impact energy at -20°C, suitable for low-temperature or offshore service
