SS400 Steel Description
SS400 steel is a mild carbon structural steel defined under the JIS G3101 standard, widely used in construction, machinery, and fabrication industries. It offers a minimum yield strength of 245 MPa and tensile strength between 400–510 MPa, providing an excellent balance between strength, ductility, and workability.
With its excellent weldability and machinability, SS400 is commonly used in bridges, buildings, frames, and steel structures. The material is available in plates, coils, and structural shapes, and can be hot-rolled or pickled & oiled depending on customer requirements.
